Exploring Nano Server for Windows Server 2016

If you haven’t yet tried Windows Server 2016, today we hope to give you a few more reasons to try out our latest technical preview. On this week’s Microsoft Mechanics show, we feature updates to Nano Server with Jeffrey Snover, Chief Architect, Enterprise Cloud. Nano Server is the new headless deployment option for Windows Server 2016. As a deeply refactored version of Windows Server, it’s designed to give you the lightest and fastest server OS configuration with fewer patch and update events, faster restarts, better resource utilization and tighter security. To explain further, today’s show enumerates the key differences between our various server instantiations: notably, the server with desktop experience, Server Core and Nano Server, which sans 32-bit support (WOW64), the graphic stack, Remote Desktop and local logon is at least 25 times smaller. While offering a deliberately small initial footprint, Jeffrey demonstrates for the first time how easy it is to customize Nano Server, by sourcing packages from repositories either on a local path or from the cloud. The future of the datacenterIn response to increased needs for higher density and more efficient OS resource utilization, Nano Server is foundational to the modern datacenter and is useful in two core scenarios: As a private cloud infrastructure it’s particularly useful for clustered Hyper-V, clustered storage and core networking services scenarios; or as an application platform it’s highly optimized for modern distributed and cloud-based apps which leverage containers and micro service architectures. Ultimately, Nano Server is designed to ensure that more resources are freed up to run apps and services. The advantages of Nano Server, as evidenced by the latest build stats shared on the show, include significantly lower resource consumption, greater agility and speed with exceptionally fast set-up times (40 seconds versus 19 minutes for server with a desktop experience). All management is performed remotely via PowerShell and WMI, with remote management options via existing tools and a new web-based remote management tool. Further, offline management can be achieved via the new Nano Server Recovery Console, which gives you a local interface with a simplified UI, all of which you can see for yourself in Jeffrey’s final demo.

Google is a more powerful tool than most people realize. You can get much more refined searches with Google’s built-in tools, advanced operators, and third-party extensions. You can also use it for some pretty cool stuff if you know the right tricks. Here are 10 of our favorite lesser known tricks and features. 1. Refine Your Search Terms with Advanced Operators Okay, so this isn’t so much a “clever use” than it is a tool everyone should have in their pocket. For everything Google can do, so few of us actually use the tools at our disposal. You probably already know you can search multiple terms with AND or OR, but have you ever used AROUND? AROUND is a halfway point between regular search terms (like white teeth) and using quotes (like “white teeth”). AROUND(2), for example, ensures that the two words are close to each other, but not necessarily in a specific order. You can tweak the range with a higher or lower number in the parentheses. Similarly, if you want to exclude a word entirely, you can add a dash before it—like justin bieber -sucks if you want sites that only speak of Justin Bieber in a positive light. You can also use this to exclude other parameters—like excluding a site you don’t like 2. Get More Precise Time-Based Search Results You’ve probably seen the option in Google that lets you filter results by time, such as the past hour, day, or week. But if you want something more specific—like in the past 10 minutes—you can do so with a URL hack. Just add &tbs=qdr: to the end of the URL, along with the time you want to search (which can include h5 for 5 hours, n5 for 5 minutes, or s5 for 5 seconds (substituting any number you want). So, to search within th past 10 minutes, you’d add&tbs=qdr:n10to your URL. It’s handy for getting the most up-to-the-minute news. 3. Search for People on Google Images Some people’s names are also real-world objects—like “Rose” or “Paris.” If you’re looking for a person and not a flower, just search for rose and add to &imgtype=facethe end of your search URL, as shown above. Google will redo the search but return results that it recognizes as faces! Update: Reader unclghost kindly pointed out that we’re working with outdated information here—this trick is now built into Google’s UI! Just head to Search Tools > Type and you can choose from faces, photos, clip art, line drawings, and even animations. Thanks for the tip! 4. Bypass Paywalls, Blocked Sites, and More with a Google Proxy You may already know that you can sometimes bypass paywalls, get around blocked sites, and download files by funneling a site through Google Translate or Google Mobilizer. That’s a clever search trick in and of itself, but just like Google Cache, you can make the process a lot faster by keeping a few URLs on hand. Just add the URL you want to visit to the end of the Google URL 5. Access Google Cache Directly from the Search Bar We all know Google Cache can be a great tool, but there’s no need to search for the page and then hunt for that “Cached” link: just type cache: before that site’s URL (e.g. cache:http://lifehacker.com). If Google has the site in its cache, it’ll pull it right up for you. If you want to simplify the process even more, this bookmarklet is handy to have around. It’s great for seeing an old version of a page, accessing a site when it’s down, or getting past something like the SOPA blackout. 6. Discover Alternatives to Popular Sites, Apps, and Products You’ve probably searched for comparisons on Google before, like roku vs apple tv. But what if you don’t know what you want to compare a product too, or you want to see what other competitors are out there? Just type in roku vs and see what Google’s autocomplete adds. It’ll most likely list the most popular competitors to the roku so you know what else to check out. You can also search for better than roku to see alternatives, too. 7. Find Free Downloads of Any Type Ever needed an old Android app but couldn’t find the APK for what you were looking for? Or wanted an MP3 but couldn’t find the right version? Google has a few search tools that, when used together, can unlock a plethora of downloads: inurl, intitle, and filetype. For example, to find free Android APKs, you’d search for -inurl:htm -inurl:html intitle:”index of” apk to see site indexes of stored APK files. You can use this to find Android apps, music files, free ebooks, comic books, and more. Check out the linked posts for more information. 8. Get “Wildcard” Suggestions Through Autocomplete A lot of advanced search engines let you put a * in the middle of your terms to denote “anything.” Google does too, but it doesn’t always work the way you want. However, you can still get wildcard suggestions, of a sort, by typing in a full phrase in Google and then deleting the word you want to replace. For example, you can search for how to jailbreak an iphoneand remove one word to see all the suggestions for how to ____ an iphone. 9. Find Product Names, Recipes, and More with Reverse Image Search Google’s reverse image search is great if you’re looking for the source of a photo, wallpaper, or more images like that. However, reverse image search is also great for searching out information—like finding out who makes the chair in this picture, or how do I make the meal in this photo. Just punch in an image like you normally would, but look at Google’s regular results instead of the image results—you’ll probably find a lot. 10. Use Google to Search Certain Sites If you really like a web site but its search tool isn’t very good, fret not—Google almost always does a better job, and you can use it to search that site with a simple operator. For example, if you want to find an old Lifehacker article, just type site:lifehacker.com before your search terms (e.g. site:lifehacker.com hackintosh). The same goes for your favorite forums, blogs, and even web services. In fact, it’s actually really good for finding free audiobooks, searching for free stuff without the spam, and more.

MOST OF THE WEB IS INVISIBLE TO GOOGLE. HERE'S WHAT IT CONTAINS

You thought you knew the Internet. But sites such as Facebook, Amazon, and Instagram are just the surface. There’s a whole other world out there: the Deep Web. It’s a place where online information is password protected, trapped behind paywalls, or requires special software to access—and it’s massive. By some estimates, it is 500 times larger than the surface Web that most people search every day. Yet it’s almost completely out of sight. According to a study published in Nature, Google indexes no more than 16 percent of the surface Web and misses all of the Deep Web. Any given search turns up just 0.03 percent of the information that exists online (one in 3,000 pages). It’s like fishing in the top two feet of the ocean—you miss the virtual Mariana Trench below. Much of the Deep Web’s unindexed material lies in mundane data­bases such as LexisNexis or the rolls of the U.S. Patent Office. But like a Russian matryoshka doll, the Deep Web contains a further hidden world, a smaller but significant community where malicious actors unite in common purpose for ill. Welcome to the Dark Web, sometimes called the Darknet, a vast digital underground where hackers, gangsters, terrorists, and pedophiles come to ply their trade. What follows is but a cursory sampling of the goods and services available from within the darkest recesses of the Internet. Things You Can Buy 1. Drugs Individual or dealer-level quantities of illicit and prescription drugs of every type are available in the digital underground. The Silk Road, the now-shuttered drug superstore, did $200 million of business in 28 months. 2. Counterfeit Currency Fake money varies widely in quality and cost, but euros, pounds, and yen are all available. Six hundred dollars gets you $2,500 in counterfeit U.S. notes, promised to pass the typical pen and ultraviolet-light tests. 3. Forged Papers Passports, driver’s licenses, citizenship papers, fake IDs, college diplomas, immigration documents, and even diplomatic ID cards are available on illicit marketplaces such as Onion Identity Services. A U.S. driver’s license costs approximately $200, while passports from the U.S. or U.K. sell for a few thousand bucks. 4. Firearms, Ammunition, and Explosives Weapons such as handguns and C4 explosives are procurable on the Dark Web. Vendors ship their products in specially shielded packages to avoid x-rays or send weapons components hidden in toys, musical instruments, or electronics. 5. Hitmen Service providers—including a firm named for the H.P. Lovecraft monster C’thulhu—advertise “permanent solutions to common problems.” For everything from private grudges to political assassinations, these hired guns accept bitcoin as payment and provide photographic proof of the deed. 6. Human Organs In the darker corners of the Dark Web, a vibrant and gruesome black market for live organs thrives. Kidneys may fetch $200,000, hearts $120,000, livers $150,000, and a pair of eyeballs $1,500. Things That Make Internet Crime Work 1. Cryptocurrency Digital cash, such as bitcoin and darkcoin, and the payment system Liberty Reserve provide a convenient system for users to spend money online while keeping their real-world identities hidden. 2. Bulletproof Web-hosting Services Some Web hosts in places such as Russia or Ukraine welcome all content, make no attempts to learn their customers’ true identities, accept anonymous payments in bitcoin, and routinely ignore subpoena requests from law enforcement. 3. Cloud Computing By hosting their criminal malware with reputable firms, hackers are much less likely to see their traffic blocked by security systems. A recent study suggested that 16 percent of the world’s malware and cyberattack distribution channels originated in the Amazon Cloud. 4. Crimeware Less skilled criminals can buy all the tools they need to identify system vulnerabilities, commit identity theft, compromise servers, and steal data. It was a hacker with just such a tool kit who invaded Target’s point-of-sale system in 2013. 5. Hackers For Hire Organized cybercrime syndicates outsource hackers-for-hire. China's Hidden Lynx group boasts up to 100 professional cyberthieves, some of whom are known to have penetrated systems at Google, Adobe, and Lockheed Martin. 6. Multilingual Crime Call Centers Employees will play any duplicitous role you would like, such as providing job and educational references, initiating wire transfers, and unblocking hacked accounts. Calls cost around $10. How to Access the Dark Web’s Wares Anonymizing Browser Tor—short for The Onion Router—is one of several software programs that provide a gateway to the Dark Web. Tor reroutes signals across 6,000 servers to hide a page request’s origin, making clicks on illicit material nearly impossible for law enforcement to trace. It uses secret pages with .onion suffixes—rather than .com—which are only accessible with a Tor browser. Secret Search Engines In mid-2014, a hacker created Grams, the Dark Web’s first distributed search engine. Grams allows would-be criminals to search for drugs, guns, and stolen bank accounts across multiple hidden sites. It even includes an "I’m Feeling Lucky" button and targeted ads where drug dealers compete for clicks. © 2015 by Marc Goodman Future Crimes Criminal Wikis Carefully organized wikis list hidden sites by category, such as Hacks, Markets, Viruses, and Drugs. Descriptions of each link help curious newcomers find their desired illicit items. Hidden Chatrooms Just as in the real world, online criminals looking to obtain the most felonious material must be vouched for before they can transact. A network of invitation-only chatrooms and forums, hidden behind unlisted alphanumeric Web addresses, provides access to the most criminal of circles.

How to Check and Manage Chromebook Storage

If you’ve picked up a Chromebook (or Chromebox), you’ll know you don’t get very much in the way of local storage—the system is designed for the cloud after all. Still, there are times when saving files locally is a good idea (watching movies offline for example) and you want to manage those handful of gigabytes effectively. Here’s how. There are a couple of ways to see what’s taking up the storage space on your Chromebook (you typically get 16GB of space to play around with, the same as a budget smartphone). Either launch the Files app and tap the menu button (three vertical dots) or type chrome://quota-internals into a browser address bar and check that way. You can see which sites are caching excessive amounts of data under the Usage & Quota tab of the Quota Internals page, but for a more user-friendly look at the situation, head to the Chrome OS Settings page, then click Stored data. Select any entry to see storage usage, permissions granted and even battery drain for the site in question. Tap Clear to erase the cached data. The Files app can be used to delete local files as well of course, via the handy trash can icon on the toolbar. The old Windows shortcuts can prove helpful here: Shift and Ctrl to select multiple files at once, Ctrl+A to select everything in a particular folder, and then Alt+Backspace to delete.

A little over a year ago, Google officially changed the name of its Docs app to Drive and gave users cloud storage to compete with Dropbox. While so far the search giant has yet to dethrone the incumbent, the service does have one distinct advantage over the competition: a wide array of extensions and apps that integrate directly into the service. Many of the apps listed here are actually standalone web apps. If you see something you like but aren't particularly keen on using Google Drive for your cloud storage, you can still use many of these services on their own. You'll just need to handle file management separately. Web Apps for Drive We recently covered some of the best apps for Chrome that you're probably not using, but Google Drive integration affords quite a few more options for dealing with your documents in a way that other cloud storage solutions do not. The following apps integrate with Google Drive, which means you can access them via Drive's web interface on any browser or operating system. Drive Notepad Gives You Plaintext Editing 8 Extensions That Make Google Drive More Powerful Than Dropbox Drive Notepad gives you the ability to both read and create basic Notepad files, the format-less text documents Windows users are so familiar with. You can open these files in Notepad itself if you're on a Windows machine where you have Google Drive installed, but if not there's the default web app that you can open in Chrome. As we mentioned previously, WeVideo is great for performing simple video edits on the web. If you want your compilation to be a bit more portable, you can use Drive to store all your project files and assets in a single folder that you can access from anywhere. Keep in mind, of course, that video files can fill up space really fast, so if you plan to use this app regularly, you may want to spring for some extra storage space. Professional architects and interior designers may find this app a bit underpowered, but for the average person looking to map out their next home design project (or just experiment with new ideas), FloorPlanner is a powerful tool for designing and furnishing a virtual home. As with the other apps, files are saved directly in Drive and accessible on any browser with just a right-click. As long as your coworkers are still using Dropbox (and they do still have quite a few reasons to do so), you'll probably still need to interact with it at some point. With CloudHQ, you can sync your entire collection of files or just specific folders. You can choose either one- or two-way sync, and there's even the option for a one-time sync if you just want to move some files over. It also allows you to access your files from directly within Drive via the sidebar. Google Drive still has a way to go before it can take Dropbox's place as king of the cloud mountain (for example, copying the public link for a shared file in Windows Explorer is a needlessly complicated affair), but the web interface in particular has a lot going for it that Dropbox just doesn't (or can't) offer yet. One final note on cleanup: if you try out any of the apps mentioned above and later decide you don't want them around (your Create dialog can get pretty cluttered if you install all of these), you can remove them under Settings in Drive's web interface. Just click Manage Apps to remove any applications you've linked with Drive, or to set defaults for which app should automatically open which type of file.

• Untuk cara yang kedua adalah dengan cara anda pergi keblogger > pilih template > edit HTML > cari kode </head> > letakkan kode yang kedua tadi tepat diatasnya > Setelah anda Letakkan kodenya, kemudian anda simpan templatenya.

8. Setelah itu anda pergi keaccess and authorization > Google Analytics Integration yang tadi, disitu masih terlihat tulisan none dan link (maka kita akan mengubahnya.

9. Silahkan anda masuk ke google analytic yang tadi, kemudian klick tanda lonceng dipojok kanan atas (Biasanya google analytic sudah mengirimkan notifikasi tersebut) > silahkan anda klick tulisan konfigurasikan penautan produk.

10. Silahkan anda scroll kebawah sedikit > pilih adsense > tautkan adsense

11. Sekarang anda bisa setting penautan adsensenya

• Untuk yang Properti adsense, anda bisa pilih yang adsense untuk konten
• Konfigurasi tautan > anda pilih semuad
• Aktifkan tautan anda

12. Jika adsense berhasil ditautkan, maka akan tampak seperti gambar dibawah ini

Preferensi Penelusuran adalah pengaturan yang dimana kita bisa mengatur Deskripsi blog, Kesalahan dan pengalihan, Perayapan dan pengindeksan. Disini yang paling penting adalah Perayapan dan pengindeksan karena jika disetting, maka proses pengindeksan akan lebih cepat. Dalam menyeting Preferensi Penelusuran kalian harus berhati-hati dalam menyeting Kesalahan dan pengalihan (pengalihan khusus), karena dipengalihan khusus sering terjadi error (bisa-bisa settingan pada semua Preferensi Penelusuran hilang dan kalian harus mengulang dari awal lagi. Itulah yang sering terjadi saat saya menyetting Kesalahan dan pengalihan) dan anda harus berhati-hati dalam setting Perayapan dan pengindeksan juga. Cara Setting Preferensi Penelusuran Diblog :

• Pertama anda masuk keblogger terlebih dahulu
• Kemudian pilih Setelan > Preferensi Penelusuran

1. Silahkan Anda centang pada Pengalihan Khusus

4. Klick permanen jika ingin menyetting secara permanen
